In July we were happy to welcome the team of Velothek with ten people here with us. The nine guy and one lady stayed at the hotel Stelvio. On their arrival day there was forcast of rain and thunderstorms.

Nevertheless the group took the shuttle up to Minschuns from where they tackled the Valbella tour in light drizzle together with Nicole. With a lot of luck they managed to escape the big thunderstorm. After that they rode over Tras la Val back home – a quick warm shower and everyone was ready for a tasty pizza at the hotel Al Rom..

On Saturday they desended from Stelvio over Tibettrail inculding a switchback massacre. After arriving in Trafoi the infamous chairlift without bike transport system brought them back up to the Funkelhütte. Proper oldschool and a bit skechy you just have to hold on to your bike sitting on the chairlift.
After lunch the group enjoyed together with guide Nicole and Arno the long and fun desend down to Prad. And obviously they couldn’t miss out on the mandatory ice cream in the South Tyrol.
Dinner was served in the hotel Stelvio and after that they went sleepy time really early because of the «Sunriseride» which was scheduled for the next early morning.

The forecast was really really bad: rain rain rain – only in the very very early morning it seemed to hold on for a bit. Despite the grim forecast they decided for the «ride», but because of the clouds without the sunrise – but with nut cake on the Piz instead. This was a first one for us too as we’ve never experienced a Sunrise ride without sunrise feeling so far.

We were back at lunch time from our daytour over Piz Umbrail and the home trails and what a wonder – we even stayed dry. Early and therefor without traffic jams our guys from Velothek left our valley and went back home.
